Sometimes you just need to make money right now. Whether an unexpected expense has come up or you just need some extra cash to buy something special, I know you don’t always have time to wait around for your paycheque to come through.
If you are wondering how to make quick money in one hour, this post will talk you through several simple ways you can earn cash fast – and you can do it all without leaving home! From online survey sites with instant payments, to free crypto for answering quizzes, you can have extra money in your account by the end of the day.

OhMyDosh!
Got an hour to spare? Here’s how to make money in one hour online in the UK.
You can earn upwards of £30 in one hour with this offer, but it will take 3 working days to receive the money.
OhMyDosh is a money making website that pays you to complete various offers, sign up for free trials, that sort of thing.
If you are looking to get money in your bank account fast, start with the ‘Lightening payouts’ section. Once you’ve earned £10 you can request to cash out, and you will get paid within 3 working days.
There are some higher paid offers in other sections but some of them take longer to process.
Be aware that sometimes you will have to pay a small amount to qualify for an offer, and sometimes you will sign up for something that will charge you after the free trial period ends.
Just keep track of everything you sign up for and make a note of when to cancel if necessary!
When I signed up I challenged myself to see how much money I could make in 30 minutes and I made over £20!

Qmee
Qmee is an app and website that pays you to do surveys online. They are not the highest paying surveys, but what I love about Qmee is that there is no minimum payment threshold.
You can literally request payment even if there’s just 10p in your account, and you’ll receive the money within an hour!
So if you’re looking to make quick money in one hour online you could do worse than spending an hour completing surveys on Qmee.

Curious Cat
Curious Cat is another survey app with very low withdrawal (just £1) and instant payments to PayPal.
It is not very high paying but it’s another option if you want to make (and withdraw!) money fast.
Coinbase learn and earn
Coinbase is a cryptocurrency exchange app and you can earn free crypto for doing some simple tasks to learn about different cryptocurrencies.
It’s a great way to make quick money in one hour, no strings attached and no spend necessary!
First, you need to download the app and make your account.
Go to the menu on the left and look for the section called ‘Learn and earn’. Here you can watch some videos about different cryptos and answer a few multiple choice questions.
When you complete them, you’re rewarded with free crypto – which you can then exchange into GBP and withdraw to your bank account or PayPal instantly.
These offers come and go all the time but when I first signed up, I had offers for $3 FORTH, $3 GRT, $10 XLM, $9 COMP and $3 SKL, which totals $28 or about £22.
Not bad for free money in less than one hour at home!
Revolut learn and earn
Revolut is a banking app that lets you have multiple currency accounts, link external accounts, invest in stocks and trade crypto all from one place.
They have a ‘learn and earn’ feature similar to Coinbase where you can earn free crypto by completing lessons and quizzes. No deposit necessary!
When I signed up there was £13 of free crypto available (£6 DOT, £3 1INCH, £3 AVAX, £1 ALGO).
Again, these offers change regularly and there are ongoing opportunities to earn free crypto!
Simply download the Revolut app and create your account. Once you have been verified, head to the Crypto section, look for ‘Learn’ and work through the quizzes.
The free crypto will appear in your account instantly and you can sell and withdraw/spend it right away.
YouGov Finance
YouGov is best known as a survey site, but did you know the easiest and fastest way to make money on YouGov is by connecting your bank accounts to YouGov Finance?
You will earn £5 for every current account and credit card you add, and £1 for every savings account, up to a max of 10 accounts.
That’s up to £50! And you can repeat this every 3 months when the connection expires.
It only takes minutes to connect your bank accounts via open banking, but it will take 2-3 days for the connection to be verified and withdraw the cash.
Instructions:
First, make an account on YouGov if you don’t have one already. Then, head to YouGov Finance and log in with the same details.
Then, simply connect as many bank accounts as you can (this is best done on your phone).
It takes around 48 hours for the accounts to be verified, then you will get 500 points (£5) in your YouGov account for each one. You can withdraw to your bank account once you hit £50.
If you have 10 bank accounts and credit cards, you will get to £50 right away. (You might think 10 accounts sounds like a lot but you would be surprised how many you collect if you take advantage of all the free money offers for opening accounts such as Monzo and Tide!)
If not, you can do surveys to increase your point balance (I actually love YouGov for surveys because they don’t screen you out!)
Freecash
Freecash is a ‘get paid to’ site similar to OhMyDosh. They have lots of ways to earn money fast online, including signing up for offers, free trials, quizzes, downloading apps and playing games.
Crypto withdrawals start from $0.50, Stake withdrawals at $0.25 or PayPal from £5. You can easily earn £10-£15 in your first hour when you sign up to Freecash (although it can take a few days for earnings to be confirmed).
Zilch
Zilch is currently offering £5 free when you create a Zilch account and make your first contacless payment.
This isn’t free cash that you can withdraw to your bank account, but you can use it to top up your Amazon account with a gift card, or spend it pretty much anywhere using your Zilch card.
To claim, you need to sign up with a referral link, confirm your details and add a debit card. Add your debit card to your digital wallet (Apple Pay/Google Pay). Use your Zilch card from your phone the next time you make any in-person contactless payment. (It’s connected to your debit card, so you don’t need to add any money to your Zilch account.)
You will get £5 added to your Zilch account. To spend it, click through to your preferred retailer from the Zilch homepage. Make sure you toggle on the option to use your rewards discount when prompted.
When checking out on Amazon (or whatever shop you chose), simply add your Zilch card as a payment method. You will find the card details on the Zilch website.
I used my free £5 to buy an Amazon gift card, but there are loads of other options.
Matched betting
Matched betting is a way of making money from the free bets and special offers that betting websites run.
It is not gambling – there is a well documented technique to this, and if you do it properly, you should never lose money!
In very basic terms, it involves betting for and against the same event so that you don’t lose money, in order to qualify for special offers which you can then convert into free money.
If you are brand new to matched betting you won’t be able to withdraw a profit within your first hour, but once you have learned the ropes it will become your favourite way to make money in your spare time!
When I was matched betting regularly I would spend between 30 minutes and one hour most evenings and I made £300-£500 per month.
I used a website called Outplayed.com (previously known as Profit Accumulator) which tells you what bets to place and how it all works.
They have a free trial where you can make up to £40 over the weekend, and they are currently guaranteeing earnings up to £250.
You will need at least £70 upfront to get started, but you will get it all back.
How to make quick money in one hour
As you can see, there are loads of ways to make money in one hour or less. If you work your way down this list I reckon you could earn over £70 (and that’s without matched betting, which has an earning potential of £100s per month)! I hope some of these offers help you out when you’re feeling the pinch.
