You’ve been living under a rock if you’ve never heard of cryptocurrency.
Whether you believe crypto is the future or you’re sceptical, who wouldn’t want to get their hands on some free crypto?!
You can hold it as an investment or trade it for other coins. Or, if you don’t care about crypto but you fancy some extra money, just exchange it into £££ and withdraw it to your bank account.
Well, claiming some free Bitcoin and other crypto is as easy as downloading some apps and answering some questions. There are loads of crypto exchanges that reward you with free cryptocurrency for signing up to their app or website.
Some of these offers require you to deposit money and make a trade. But others let you earn free crypto just for signing up, taking a quiz, or other simple tasks.
I’ve collected a list of all the best and easiest ways to get free crypto in the UK. Most of these offers only take minutes of your time, so what are you waiting for?

Free crypto offers tips and warnings
There are a few things to be aware of when doing free crypto offers:
- For most of these offers, you must be over 18 and resident in the UK. Most of these sites will ask you to upload photo ID for anti fraud checks.
- For many of these free crypto offers, you have to make a deposit. Many of the offers are instant, but in some cases you’ll have to keep your money in the crypto account for a day or more until the bonus clears and you can withdraw your money. Check this first if you can’t afford to have money locked up.
- The price of crypto can go up and down quickly. There’s a risk of losing money.
- Also be aware there is usually a small trading and/or withdrawal fee, so the end profit will be slightly less than advertised. This is especially true if you want to sell and withdraw to GBP right away (less of an issue if you want to keep the free crypto as an investment). Fees vary by platform and by currency.
- Tip for the offers where you have to buy crypto and wait 24 hours or more to get your bonus: if you intend to withdraw your money again and you’re worried about volatility, I recommend buying a stablecoin such as Tether where possible. The price of Tether is pegged to USD so it doesn’t fluctuate as much as Bitcoin and others. Of course, not all offers/exchanges allow this, so check the T&Cs if you’re concerned.
All that said, I’ve tested all the offers here personally, and found them all to be profitable!

Ziglu – quick £5 free money
Deposit and trade £1, get £5 free
This is not technically a free crypto offer because your bonus is in GBP, not cryptocurrency! But since it uses a crypto trading app – and it’s SUCH a quick and easy offer – I had to include it here.
To claim this offer, sign up to Ziglu using my referral link. Create your account and upload a snap of your photo ID. Wait for your account to be verified – this just takes a few minutes.
Once you’re verified, transfer some money from your bank to Ziglu and use it to buy any cryptocurrency. Your free £5 bonus will appear in your account right away.
Note: technically there is no minimum value of crypto you have to buy to be eligible for this offer. But the minimum amount you can deposit and withdraw on Ziglu is £1. Also, there is a 1.25% trading fee. So if you intend to withdraw your crypto after completing this offer, I recommend transferring slightly more than £1 to cover the fees.

Bottlepay – easy £5 free Bitcoin

Bottlepay is a free crypto offer very similar to the Ziglu one.
Simply download the app and create your account. When asked for a referral code enter FNGI3RGVYD.
As standard for these kinds of offers, you will need to upload a pic of your ID for KYC checks.
Once that’s all confirmed, fund your account with £10 and trade it for £10 Bitcoin. You’ll get an instant £5 Bitcoin bonus in your account.
You can trade your £15 Bitcoin back into GBP instantly and withdraw it from your account.
There is a small trading fee but even after fees, I made £4.69 profit from this offer and it took just 10 minutes!

Coinbase – $10 free Bitcoin and ongoing chance to earn
Deposit $100, get $10 free Bitcoin – plus ongoing opportunities to earn various free cryptocurrencies with no additional deposit needed
Coinbase is one of the best known crypto exchange platforms. They currently support over 50 cryptocurrencies.
They are offering two different ways to earn: a signup offer (requires you to deposit and trade $100 – approx £70), and free rewards for answering quiz questions. You can do this last part with no deposit!
Coinbase free Bitcoin signup offer
Sign up to Coinbase using my referral link and create your account.
Add the equivalent of $100 funds from your bank (this is around £71 at the time of writing but Coinbase should tell you the exact amount needed for the offer when you sign up). Use it to buy any crypto.
When the transaction has cleared you will get the equivalent of $10/around £7 in free Bitcoin added to your wallet.
It can take a few days for the transaction to complete and for you to receive your bonus. Once the bonus is in your account, you can withdraw the money if you need it to complete the other offers on this list.
Earn free cryptocurrency for doing quizzes
This is an easy way to earn some free crypto with no deposit needed!
Coinbase want to educate their users about crypto and encourage interest in new or lesser known coins. So they regularly give out small amounts of various different cryptocurrencies for watching short videos and answering quick quiz questions about the different currencies.
To earn, log into your Coinbase account (app or online) and find the ‘Rewards’ section on the homepage. Then, just scroll down and see what’s currently on offer.
When I signed up I earned over £20 of various currencies in one go from these quizzes. Since then, I get a few new offers each month, usually $2 or $3 at a time.
You can keep your rewards in the currency they were awarded, or exchange into Bitcoin or GBP – whatever you like.
Luno – £10 free Bitcoin
Deposit £100, get £10 free Bitcoin
Another great offer where you can earn crypto for signing up and making your first trade.
Sign up with Luno. Follow all the prompts to fill out your profile, including uploading your ID and photo.
After your ID is verified, go to the ‘rewards’ tab, click ‘enter a code’, and enter my code 7FXDM2.
Deposit £100 and buy £100 Bitcoin. You will get a free £10 in Bitcoin added to your account instantly.
Mode – £10 free Bitcoin
Deposit £100, get £10 free Bitcoin
Mode is a slick new UK based crypto platform that aims to disrupt the financial services system. Later in 2021 you will be able to use Mode to pay online and earn cashback on your purchases in Bitcoin.
You can get £10 free Bitcoin when you sign up and buy £100.
To claim this free Bitcoin offer, follow my referral link, enter your phone number, click on the link in the text message to download the app.
Create your account and verify by verifying your email and uploading ID.
Buy £100 worth of Bitcoin, and Mode will top you up with an extra £10. The bonus should show up right away in your transaction list but it will be pending for 24 hours.
After 24 hours, the bonus will be added to your Bitcoin account you can then sell and withdraw all your BTC if you wish. If you withdraw, profit will be around £8 after fees (depending on Bitcoin fluctuation during that time!)
Mode’s minimum transaction is £50 and the fee to buy BTC is 0.99% (so 99p on £100).
SwissBorg – mystery prize worth between €1-€100 in free crypto
Deposit €50, get free CHSB prize worth between €1-€100
SwissBorg is another Crypto trading app with an interesting sign up offer. Simply deposit €50 and you’ll get a free ‘scratch card’ to reveal a prize worth anywhere from €1 to €100.
You can withdraw your deposit instantly and you are not required to make a trade.
The prize is awarded in SwissBorg Token (CHSB). You can exchange this for other cryptocurrencies, or exchange it into GBP and withdraw it. Or, if you want to stay on the Swissborg platform, CHSB unlocks benefits such as 0% exchange fees and double yield earnings.
IMPORTANT NOTE: this offer is a slight gamble because there is a minimum withdrawal fee of £1, plus you will lose a little on exchange fees. So if your prize is in the €1 region, you will lose money.
Personally, I won 11 EUR (£9.25). I was able to complete this entire offer in under 20 minutes and withdrew a £8.23 profit after fees.
To claim this offer: use this referral link, enter your telephone number and download the app. Create your account (including ID verification).
Deposit the equivalent of €50 via bank transfer, using the details in the app. At the time of writing this was about £43, but check exchange rates first!
When I did this offer, the funds showed up instantly in my Swissborg account, but be aware that it sometimes takes a few days. Make sure to include the reference number provided in the app when you make the transfer.
Alternatively you can transfer €50 in crypto from another wallet.

Bitpanda – €10 free cash, plus €5 free BEST

Bitpanda is another crypto platform with a couple of ways to earn bonuses.
Referral offer
Bitpanda offer a free €10 bonus when you deposit and trade €25 or £25. The bonus is added to your account as Euros, not crypto.
To claim this offer, sign up to the Bitpanda website or app with this referral link, complete the sign up process, and upload your ID. Note that you need a passport for ID – driving licences are not accepted.
Deposit £25 (do this from the ‘portfolio’ tab). Pay by bank transfer, rather than card, to avoid fees. The bank transfer took about 2 days to be approved in my case.
Once your deposit has arrived in your Bitpanda account, use it to buy any crypto.
The bonus may take some time to appear in your account. When I did this offer, it was credited only after I’d done the quiz (the second part of this offer) but other people have received the bonus instantly without taking the quiz.

Bitpanda also offer a free 5EUR in BEST for taking a quiz. You can just do this offer by itself if you don’t want to deposit any money.

This quiz is not easy! You get 20 minutes to take it and you’ll probably have to research some of the answers (unless you’re already a crypto expert of course). You can take it more than once if you fail, but the questions are different each time.
Once you’ve passed, your €5 in BEST will appear in your account instantly.
BEST can be used to pay Bitpanda trading fees at a discount. You can also exchange it to Bitcoin or sell for Euros or pounds.
There is the potential to earn further rewards by taking the next level quiz, once it is unlocked. This wasn’t available for me at the time of writing so I can’t confirm how much the reward is.
The minimum amount for deposits and withdrawals is EUR 25 or GBP 25. Since your bonus is awarded in EUR, if you want to withdraw your crypto, I recommend exchanging your crypto to EUR first so you have enough in your EUR balance to meet the minimum for withdrawal.

As you can see, there are LOADS of ways to get free Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in the UK with little or no effort. If you are curious about investing in crypto, these offers can be a great way to get started.
