Best online jobs, no experience required

Simple online jobs you can do with no experience. Earn extra money from home!

English tutor

Some people think that they have no skills at all.

However, as a native English speaker you have a massive skill sitting there that you probably haven’t ever thought to use!

Companies across the world are always on the lookout for English tutors to teach English to school kids in China, Japan and a host of other countries.

Now, some of these companies have entry requirements and some state that you must have a bachelor’s degree before teaching online.

However, you are able to work with some companies without any prior teaching experience. All you need is your ability to speak English, combined with a passion to teach children.

Many of these companies provide lesson plans, slides and other resources. All you have to do is introduce the materials and answer questions.

Classes are conducted through Skype or similar software. That way you and your students can see each other, interact with each other and get the most out of the learning experience.

To get started you might be asked to take a course which teaches you how to teach English to others. Sometimes you are required to purchase this yourself, but some companies are willing to put you through the training. It really just depends on which company you go with.

The most popular course is called TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language). You can find online TEFL courses that are fairly inexpensive (here’s one).

Here are just a few of the companies recruiting online English tutors for work from home positions with no experience in the UK and more:

  • Education First (EF) – offers long term positions with benefits such as pension and paid training. Degree and TEFL required.
  • Cambly – no experience or qualifications required
  • Palfish – no experience or qualifications required, but you can earn more with a TEFL certificate
  • Lots more in this post!

You will earn above minimum wage with these types of online jobs and you can choose how many hours you work a week, so should you want to have it as your full-time job or simply as a backup for your day job, the choice is yours.

Matched betting

No, it’s not a risky form of earning money, don’t worry.

In fact, if done right, matched betting is one of the most lucrative ways to earn money online without any experience (UK only).

For those of you unaware, matched betting is a way to exploit bookmaker offers to earn legit, low-risk cash.

You place a bet for one outcome on one bookmaker, and then place another bet for the opposite result to happen on another bookmaker. The two bets are balanced out so that you don’t lose money.

Using calculators and sites like Outplayed.com (my preferred site) you can find bets that will make you a profit.

This is something that you can do part-time alongside your day-to-day job. There are daily offers and strategies to take advantage of, so matched betting never sleeps. From football, to tennis and even ice hockey, there is always something that you can make money on.

Even at the moment with football cancelled due to Covid-19, there are still plenty of ways to make money. See this post for more info on how to do matched betting during Coronavirus.

And the best part is you don’t need any experience to get started. Don’t be put off if you haven’t placed a bet in your life!

There are sites out there who hold your hand through the whole process, giving you training videos, step-by-step guides and customer service reps available to answer any questions you might have.

It won’t be long before you don’t need those stabilisers and you’ll be able to ride the matched betting bike yourself.

Become a freelancer

A freelancer is a person who works on their own terms, choosing their own working hours, location and (most of the time) their salary.

Now, it all does sound great, but be aware you need to put in a lot of effort and dedication to get to a level where you can be financially comfortable.

Freelancing opens you up to the world of online work. You can choose to freelance in most skills. Always wanted to be a voice-over artist? Want to write for a living? Or do you want to consult businesses on their social media platforms?

Initially this might be a daunting prospect, especially if you haven’t done anything like this before.

However, that’s the great thing about freelancing – you don’t need any experience.

Sure, you might not get the highest paying client to begin with, and you may not be living the most luxurious life, but everyone needs to start somewhere.

The best way to start freelancing is to just get some experience, even if that first client is not so well paid. Then you can get some testimonials that will help you land future work.

Start now and build up your knowledge, skills and confidence working with clients in your specific area of expertise. So if you want to be a freelance writer, just start writing, use sites like Upwork, Fiverr and Peopleperhour to get your first clients. Once you’ve done that, the hard work is done.

There is nothing to be ashamed of starting low and working your way through the ranks of freelancing. Everyone has to start somewhere.

This post has some more tips on landing your first clients as a freelancer.

Transcription jobs

Transcription jobs are an ideal way to build up your listening and typing skills whilst earning an income online.

Sites like TranscribeMe and Rev.com pay people like you to transcribe audio into text. You are given a piece of audio to listen to and your job is to follow the guidelines given by the site and type out exactly what you hear.

The pay is decided based on how many seconds of audio you are given to transcribe. So for example a 30 second piece of audio may take several minutes to type out, listening time and time again to make sure you get it right. Keep that in mind when you see the rates per minute.

Signing up for transcription work is straight forward. Be aware that you will be asked to complete a transcription test which you won’t be paid for, but it will be worth it if you pass and get accepted onto the site.

People report earnings anywhere from £10 – £1000 a month transcribing as a side hustle, so the level of income you can expect to receive is very broad.

This will just depend on which company you choose to work with and how much work they are bringing in.

This is an ideal opportunity for those who have no experience.

As long as you can listen carefully and can pay attention to detail, the rest will come with in-house training from the company where you will be taught their guidelines and how to use their software to input the information clearly.

Here are a few sites to look at offering no experience jobs in transcription:

Become a blogger

Blogging is probably the most popular and well known form of making income online with no experience.

And it worked for me: I started blogging three years ago as a side hustle, and I was able to make enough to replace my day job after just two years!

I had no idea what I was doing when I started my blog, but there are so many online communities and resources to help out. Even with no experience, I was able to figure things out as I went along until I built my blog up into a profitable business.

Setting up a blog today has never been easier. Sites like WordPress are so user friendly that you could have a fully customised site set up in the matter of an hour. There’s no need for coding experience or knowledge.

I’ve put together a step-by-step guide (including screenshots!) to show you how to set up your own blog. I also show you how to actually make money with your blog!

The great thing about blogging is there are no rules or restrictions. You are free to blog about whatever you want.

However, the best advice would be to treat blogging as your job and your business. This means thinking ahead of yourself is vitally important should you want to make any money from it.

Sure, you can create a blog about your cat and how cute she is, but how is that going to bring in any money?

Instead, you could create a blog about how to care for cats, with articles on how to give your cat the best life, guides to the best accessories and pet food… you get the idea. The key thing is to write content that answer the kind of questions that people are asking online. This means more people will find your blog and follow your recommendations.

Blogging is perfect for people with no experience. You can start right now, with no experience and no money. There are tonnes of guides and videos out there to give you a helping hand, but once you get started you’ll soon get the hang of it.

Blogging can become your job, and for many people blogging is their job, earning way more than they could have with a normal 9-5 job. Be warned that it does take many years of hard work and dedication to get it to that level.

But going from zero experience, to living life on your own terms as a full time blogger … you can’t complain about that.

Affiliate marketing

Imagine being paid for selling someone else’s products. You don’t have to create your own product, spend money on advertising or ship it out to customers. Well, that’s exactly what affiliate marketing is.

With affiliate marketing, you promote other people’s products. You are given a special tracking link, so that the vendor knows you sent them. Then you get paid a commission for every sale.

Affiliate marketing can be a form of blogging. You create a website, then review or describe a product, input a link to where you can buy the product from, and you get money once the reader buys it.

This is one form of affiliate marketing and you can get started with absolutely zero experience.

So for example, you see that Amazon has an affiliate marketing programme whereby you get paid to promote Amazon products on your website.

Let’s say you really want to create a site about bicycles. You would find bicycles for sale on Amazon, review those bikes, give people your recommendations and honest thoughts on them.
Throughout the article you would provide your affiliate marketing link which lets Amazon recognise that it was you that sent the customer over to purchase a product. You then get a small commission for each product sold.

If this sounds up your street, here’s one great site that provides free beginner training on setting up an affiliate website. It even gives you two free websites to get started!

And if creating a website isn’t for you, you don’t even need one to start affiliate marketing. You can promote your affiliate links on Pinterest, on Twitter, in Facebook groups, in forums, by email, and many other methods.

Just make sure to follow the guidelines of the affiliate program, and the platform you’re promoting on. Don’t be spammy – that’s a surefire way to have your account banned.

Just like blogging you can get started today, with no experience. But be aware that it takes a lot of time and effort to build up a full-time income from affiliate marketing.

The great thing about affiliate marketing, however, is it can become passive income. Once you have created those articles with your links in it, they are on the web forever.

People can come across your site months, even years later and you’ll still get paid if they click your link and buy a product.

Online customer service adviser

The need for online customer service reps has blown up in recent times with people online across the world 24/7.

Companies often outsource their customer service work to other businesses, who specialise in providing round the clock customer service help.

You can get your own job helping people across the world from the comfort of your own home office, without any experience. Of course you’d ideally be a people person, love to have a chat and be able to step into the shoes of real customers.

Sites like TheChatShop and Sensee give you the chance to work from home as a customer service advisor for a range of different companies across the country. It’s a great source of online jobs with no experience in the UK.

You need a decent internet connection and a desktop computer and screens to get started, but once you have them in place you can choose your own hours and work when it suits you best.

This flexibility also makes it one of the most popular jobs for mums with no experience. See this interview with one mum who did this job part time for years.

Pay for these types of jobs are usually minimum wage to begin with. But with excellent work you can see your pay rise on a regular basis.

A quick Google search will bring you up some of the best companies that hire customer service advisers, but get in quick because these, as you can imagine, are very popular roles.
