FeaturePoints Review: Make Money by Downloading Apps

Boost My Budget uses affiliate links.

I love it when I find a new way to make money on my phone!

This month I’ve been testing out FeaturePoints, which claims to be an easy way to make money by downloading apps.

But does it work? Take a look at my FeaturePoints review and see how I got on!

What is FeaturePoints?

FeaturePoints pays you to download apps on your smartphone.

That’s it!

Literally, all you have to do is download (free) apps via their link. You usually have to use the app for two minutes to make it validate.

Don’t worry, you don’t really have to do much – I usually just leave the app open while I’m doing something else and it’s fine.

After your two minutes are up, return to FeaturePoints and watch your points go up!

Then, rinse and repeat. When you have enough points, you can cash them in for various rewards.

You can delete the apps from the phone as soon as you’ve earned your points.

Weirdly, FeaturePoints is not an app itself – at least for iPhones. If you have an iPhone, you need to access FeaturePoints via their website on Safari on your phone. If you have an Android, you can get the app from the Google Play store.

FeaturePoints is available in any country, although the rewards vary by country.

My experience with FeaturePoints

I’ve been using FeaturePoints for a week or so. And I can tell you, I’m now a HUGE fan!

The best thing about FeaturePoints is that it’s completely brainless activity. Seriously – it takes no mental effort on your behalf. It’s even easier than filling in surveys.

This makes it the ideal activity to do while you’re watching TV, chatting online, waiting around for someone… you get the idea.

I like to have the app open while I’m working online on my blogs. All it takes is a couple of taps every few minutes, and I’m making money without paying attention.

Some of the apps prompt me to allow notifications and/or provide personal details, but I always skip these steps and it hasn’t been a problem.

When I first started using FeaturePoints, there were loads of apps available to download. I easily totted up over 600 points (a third of the way to payout) in my first evening. The next day, more apps appeared. I found several new apps are added at intervals each day, so keep checking in!

After a couple of days, I started getting more demanding apps. One or two of them asked me to play through a level of a game, for example. None of these were too time-consuming, and you can always ignore any apps you don’t want to download. There’ll always be new ones!

Some of the different apps you can get paid to download

I did start to encounter a few bugs with FeaturePoints. Sometimes I wasn’t taken to the app store, or it took me to the wrong app. Sometimes points get stuck on pending for a while. You can report these issues back on the FeaturePoints site, so hopefully these issues will get ironed out over time.

I reached my first payout (1,800 points = $3 via PayPal) after four days.

Warning: some of these apps use a lot of data to download, so use WiFi if possible.

How much can you earn with FeaturePoints?

FeaturePoints deals in ‘points’, which you can then redeem either as vouchers or cash via PayPal.

Points per app vary from around 20 to 180. I’d say the average is about 50. To put that into context, you need 1,800 points to redeem the minimum PayPal payment of $3.

That might not sound like much, but remember – this is really easy! There are several new apps added each day, and it takes almost zero effort. You can easily reach a payout at least once a week if you keep checking in.

FeaturePoints also gives you the option to complete surveys, which can apparently earn you an extra 200 points each. I gave two or three surveys a go, but got the dreaded screen out after answering several questions each time. I just can’t be bothered with this stuff so I haven’t tried the surveys again since. But, if you enjoy doing surveys this could be a nice extra boost for you.

Make extra money with referrals

Like all the best apps, FeaturePoints has an awesome referral system. You can boost your earnings just by referring friends.

First of all, before you sign up make sure you have a friend’s referral code or link, because you’ll get a free 50 points without doing anything. Mine is 8TQMQ6. Or if you’re on your phone now, simply click on this link.

Then, you’ll find your own referral code inside to pass on to other people. Every time a friend signs up with your code, you’ll get a bonus of 50% of all the points they earn, forever! (They’ll still get their full amount of points too).

Don’t forget to click here or use code 8TQMQ6 on signup to get 50 free points!

How to cash out

FeaturePoints has a choice of payment methods. Me, I prefer cold, hard cash, so I was happy to see that you can request a payment transfer directly to PayPal.

This is how many points you need to request your FeaturePoints payment to PayPal:

  • 1,800 points = $3
  • 3,000 points = $5
  • 6,000 points = $10
  • 15,000 points = $25

…and so on.

You also have the option of redeeming your points for gift cards. There are various gift cards available, and this also varies by country. The vouchers currently available on FeaturePoints in the UK are:

  • Amazon.co.uk
  • FIFA 17
  • Google Play
  • iTunes
  • Pokemon GO
  • Starbucks
  • PlayStation Network
  • Xbox
  • Steam
  • League of Legends
  • Battle.net

As you can see, there are lots of app and gaming related rewards. But with Amazon and PayPal in the mix, there’s something for everyone.

The amount of points needed to redeem gift cards varies by company, so check inside the site or app if you’re interested.

Boost My Budget rating

4/5

You’ll never get rich with apps like FeaturePoints. But for a small amount of pocket money each month, this is so easy to use – and pretty fun, too. Definitely worth a try!

If you want to give it a go, don’t forget to use my referral code 8TQMQ6 to get your first 50 points 🙂
